With March 9th as the bill filing deadline, a flurry of bills were filed including bills covering environmental topics such as compliance history, air toxics, global warming, air and waste permitting, computer recycling, coal-fired plants and petroleum storage tanks.  Significant legislative activity to date includes the full Senate approval of SB 12 which would increase funding for the Texas Emission Reduction Program and SB 3, the omnibus water bill which addresses environmental flows.  Now more than halfway through the 140 days of the session,  the pace of lead environmental committee action will quicken in the coming month.  We will continue to report on significant legislative activity as the second half of the session proceeds.
