H.S. “Buddy” Garcia Confirmed as Commissioner for Texas Commission on Environmental Quality

On March 13, 2007, the Texas Senate unanimously confirmed the appointment of H.S. Buddy Garcia to serve as a Commissioner of TCEQ.  The seat became vacant on January 1, 2007 when Martin Hubert was named Texas Deputy Comptroller.  At the time of his appointment, Garcia was serving as the Texas Deputy Secretary of State.  Previously, Garcia served as Senate liaison for the Governor's office and as a special assistant to the Governor on Texas border affairs with Mexico.  Garcia’s term will expire August 31, 2011.
