Beveridge & Diamond, P.C. Secures Order Limiting Litigation Rights of Environmental IntervenorsBeveridge & Diamond, P.C., April 6, 2007 Litigators from the Firm's California and Washington offices successfully opposed intervention of right sought by four groups in a lawsuit in which the Firm represents the City of Los Angeles in an action to overturn a ban on land application of biosolids passed by the Defendant Kern County, California. The intervenors -- three water management entities and a citizen activist group opposed to recycling biosolids on farmland -- sought to intervene on the side of Defendant Kern County. The court's order denied intervention as of right and limited the intervenors role to permissive intervention on strict conditions, including a requirement that they join in the briefing of Defendant Kern County.
