John H. Kazanjian has over thirty years of experience in complex civil and commercial litigation, including trials and appeals in federal and state courts throughout the country. He concentrates his practice on the representation of manufacturers in product liability, toxic tort and mass liability cases and policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. He also has extensive litigation experience in a variety of other areas, including antitrust, trade regulation, intellectual property, banking, business torts, securities, commodities, contracts, construction, defamation, international, real estate, admiralty and maritime disputes. In addition, Mr. Kazanjian has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation. Before joining Beveridge & Diamond, he was a litigation partner with the law firm of Anderson Kill & Olick.

Mr. Kazanjian has defended manufacturers against both personal injury and property damage claims in product liability and toxic exposure cases. His experience includes the following:

  • National coordination of defense for clients sued in thousands of cases throughout the country.
  • Liaison counsel to New York federal district and state courts on behalf of all defendants in major mass tort litigation.
  • Lead trial counsel in numerous jury and bench trials in federal and state courts.
  • Litigation involving class actions, consolidations, and other aggregation of individual cases.
  • Litigation regarding the admissibility of expert evidence under applicable federal and state standards.
  • Appellate litigation of important issues for manufacturers and amici curiae industry associations.
  • Securing insurance coverage for product, toxic tort, and environmental liabilities, including the cost of defense and punitive damage awards.

Mr. Kazanjian is a frequent author and lecturer on product liability, toxic tort and insurance coverage issues as well as on litigation practice, procedure and techniques. He has served as chair of the Committee on Product Liability at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He also has served as chair of the Tort Law Section's Committee on Insurance Law at the New York County Lawyer's Association.

Mr. Kazanjian is a member of the New York Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court as well as numerous federal appellate and district courts.
