Laura Duncan is an associate in the San Francisco office of Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., with a broad environmental practice encompassing regulatory compliance, counseling, and litigation. A significant portion of her practice involves advising clients on product related issues such as restricted substances in the U.S. and Europe, California’s Proposition 65, consumer product safety issues, product packaging, labeling and product take-back/recycling. She also does substantial work related to hazardous materials and waste under the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), the California Hazardous Waste Management Act, and universal waste management standards. Ms. Duncan actively monitors legislative and regulatory developments related to California hazardous waste, product recycling, chemical restrictions, energy efficiency and climate change. She speaks at industry events, provides training on environmental compliance and assists clients in developing environmental management systems. She also drafts comments and advises clients and trade associations with regard to legislative and regulatory rulemaking at the state and federal level. Ms. Duncan received her legal degree from the George Washington University Law School (J.D., with Honors, 2002) and her undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona (B.A., summa cum laude, 1997). While in law school, Ms. Duncan was a member of The Environmental Lawyer law journal and worked in the environmental law department of a large D.C. law firm, where she focused on U.S. and international chemical, trade, and product labeling issues. Ms. Duncan is a member of the State Bar of California and the Virginia State Bar. |
