Nadira Clarke is Of Counsel in the Washington, DC office of Beveridge & Diamond, P.C.  Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, corporate compliance issues, and internal investigations. She is a seasoned trial lawyer with over fifteen years of experience litigating complex civil and criminal matters before federal and state courts. Prior to joining the firm, she held various positions with the Department of Justice and was a litigation associate with a prominent San Francisco area law firm.

Ms. Clarke served as Assistant United States Attorney with the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland, where she prosecuted healthcare and corporate fraud cases and defended the interests of the United States in large scale, complex civil matters including toxic tort and medical malpractice actions.

Ms. Clarke also served as a trial attorney with the Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, where she litigated numerous environmental cases. Her practice involved the federal land planning and natural resource statutes including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Endangered Species Act, and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. She has specific expertise in the criminal provisions of the federal environmental statutes including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act.

In addition to her litigation experience, Ms. Clarke served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division, Department of Justice, where she worked closely with federal, state and private entities implementing environmental policies. She was also appointed as Assistant Counsel to the Office of Professional Responsibility, Department of Justice, where she conducted internal investigations involving legal ethics and professional misconduct.
