John H. Paul is an associate in the New York office of Beveridge & Diamond, P.C., with a practice focusing on environmental law, environmental quality review of project proposals, and environmental litigation.

His litigation experience includes representing private, municipal, and corporate clients in regulatory enforcement proceedings, claims under state and federal environmental statutes, commercial disputes, and state statutory and common law.  John is particularly experienced in litigation under New York's Oil Spill and Environmental Quality Review Acts, and with hazardous waste cost-recovery and contribution actions.  His non-litigation practice focuses on regulatory compliance, permitting, and administrative law, as well as counseling clients on energy, takings, and environmental quality review issues.

John received his J.D. (magna cum laude) with an Environmental Law Certificate in 2003 from Pace University School of Law, and was awarded the White Plains Bar Association's Environmental Law Scholar Award. While in law school, John worked in Pace's Environmental Litigation Clinic, representing numerous non-profit organizations in state and federal environmental litigation under the Clean Water Act and New York's Environmental Quality Review Act.  John also worked for a major pharmaceutical firm while in law school.

Before entering law school, John served in the U.S. Peace Corps in the Republic of Moldova, where he was an Associate Professor of English at the state university.
